March 2017 Online Income Report

Note: This post was previously published on a different blog of mine.

Welcome to my online business income report!

I love reading the income reports of other bloggers and wanted to start sharing mine as a way to be transparent, as well as motivate myself (and hopefully others!) to create a successful business. I’m excited to keep track as I move forward.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

I include all of my online business income and expenses from blogging, ebay, etc. basically any money I earn from my online businesses. The only exception is YouTube as there seems to be some debate and gray area on that. It’s honestly not a big chunk of my income at all at this time so I’m not worried about sharing it.

MARCH INCOME

My main source of income right now is ebay! I’m loving it and it’s been growing pretty steadily. I was doing Poshmark at the beginning of the month, but decided to stop and just focus on ebay since I was getting some stuff mixed up with cross posting. Note that this income is everything that came in, including what I was paid for shipping, etc.

How to Sell on Instagram Course: $24
Ebay: $3,682.56
Poshmark: $12.80
Total: $3,719.36

MARCH EXPENSES

This part is no fun, but it’s the cost of doing business. Back when I was doing design my expenses were so low, but now that I have a business that includes inventory and shipping my expenses are much higher! There’s not much I can do as far as most of the fees, but I am going to work on increasing my income so this part doesn’t look so sad.

  • Ebay Fees: $934.76
  • Paypal Fees: $165.30
  • Shipping: $907.31
  • Cost of Goods (ebay): $563.99
  • Squarespace: $16
  • Leadpages: $37
  • Dropbox: $9.99
  • Teachable: $5.58
  • Misc (office supplies, etc): $155.48
  • Total: $2,795.41

Income: $3,719.36
Expenses: $2,795.41
Profit: $923.95

APRIL GOALS

HIT $4,000 IN ONLINE INCOME

I’ve been pretty stagnant as far as growth for the past two months. It’s been hard for me to really grow with the limited time I have, even with my mother in law helping 2 days a week. But this month I want to break into the $4,000’s. I know I can do it!

FIND & KEEP AN ASSISTANT

While I did have a virtual assistant (overseas) for a while I just felt like it wasn’t working great. I was paying her hourly and she was working much slower than I had expected considering I had to spend the time typing out all the information. Even with all of that info she would still only list about 4-5 items per hour which is the same rate I can usually list items on ebay start to finish. I put a call out for a listing assistant and another virtual assistant so hopefully I find one that sticks and a new system that works. I also have one mom that I occasionally see at playdates that’s hoping to help me list from her house. If we can get that going I think it could work out awesome for both of us!

GET BACK IN TOUCH WITH  MY EMAIL LIST

I’ve been neglecting my email list and it has been kind of eating away at me. It’s important for me to stay in touch with the people on my list even if not a lot is going on. I want to check in and I don’t want them to forget who I am or lose interest. First, I want to move from MailChimp to MailerLite. Then I want to come up with a plan for the next month and shoot them at least one helpful email a week.

I’m keeping my goals focused with month with just three! I’m hoping if I can really focus on those goals then I can achieve them rather than trying to set too many goals.

I’m so excited to get back to these income reports! It’s really fun to see the changes and progress over time.
